Will of Hannah ELLIS (-)

Proved 14 June 1822

In the name of God Amen. I Hannah ELLIS of Wanborough in the county of Surrey being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be God for the same, do make publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.

First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator hoping for remission of my sins through the merits and mediation of my Saviour of Jesus Christ and my body commit to the earth to be decently interned at the discretion of my executors hereinafter to be named.

And as to all my worldly estate being all personal, I give devise and bequeath the same as follows viz first my desire is that I wish my brother Francis ELLIS to have the sum of forty pounds of goods and lawful money of Great Britain he living in the said parish of Wanborough.

Also my desire and wish is that my brother Thomas ELLIS shall have the sum of forty pounds of goods and lawful money of Great Britain he living in the said parish of Worplesdon in the county but the said Thomas ELLIS shall give unto his daughter Jane UNDERWOOD the sum of two pounds out of the aforesaid forty pounds if she live so long she now living in the parish of Wanborough aforesaid.

Also my desire and wish is that my sister Alice ELLIS spinster shall have the sum of forty pounds of goods and lawful money of Great Britain she living in the said parish of Wanborough aforesaid.

Also my desire and wish is that my sister Stacey SMITH wife of William SMITH living in the said parish of ASH bin the said county of Surrey shall receive the sum of forty pounds of goods and lawful.

Also my desire and wish is that my sister Jane PALMER wife of John PALMER of Purbright in the said county shall receive the sum of forty pounds of goods and lawful of Great Britain .

Also my desire and wish is that my brother William ELLIS shall receive the sum of forty pounds of goods and lawful of Great Britain .

But I having aside all former Wills heretofore made that I give and bequeath to my brother George ELLIS being my soul executor and administer appointed by this eleventh day of December 1821 all my property of what kind or quality it may be knowing the same to be all personal but the said George ELLIS shall not be confined to the said brothers and sisters their full sum mentioned if in case I should live to reduce my stock then and that case my brother George ELLIS shall pay them my aforesaid brothers and sisters as above named share and share alike as the stock may be at my departure from this world.

I have set my hand and seal this aforesaid day December in the year of our Lord 1821. The mark of Hanah ELLIS. Signed sealed published and declared by the testator Hanah ELLIS as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witness thereto. The mark of Joseph FREAKES, William SMITH witnesses.

Proved at London 14 June 1822 before the Judge by oath of George ELLIS the brother the sale executor to whom admin was granted having been first sworn by comon duly admin.
