Will of Jane AMYE (-1624)

In the name of God Amen. The 14th[?] day of February 1623 Jane AMYE Widow of the parish of Worplesdon in the county of Surrey being sick of body but of perfect mind and memory praised be Almighty God. Therefore do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following –(that is to say).

First I bequeath my soul unto Almighty God my Maker and Redeemer. And my body to be buried in the Church of the parish aforesaid.

Item I give and bequeath unto Jane OCKLEY my Grandchild all my linen, all my bedding with all bl anke ts, doublets, [outayard?] and [?] thereto belonging.

Item. And for the foresaid Jane OCKLEY my two Pillow [?]and my four[?] pillow [?] and one pillow palt. And I give ? unto the said Jane OCKLEY all my ? and ? and all my ? things that is in the house ……And give unto my grandchild George AMY.

Item. I give unto Thomas STUDDOCK my grandchild fifty pounds the which money is in any ? George OCKLEY one ? of land to for the wife of the said Thomas STUDDOCK to bequest him which shall ? the age of one and twenty years of age. And forty? Pounds a year my meaning is my son OCKLEY shall pay unto him half yearly towards his maintenance for ? years as he shall ? ? of the said money. And if it please God to call the said Thomas STUDDOCK out of this mortal life before he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years of age. Then my will and meaning that his brother John STUDDOCK shall have his fifty pounds and seven pounds yearly for the ? of the said money for nine? years as his brother THOMAS hath not ????

And if the said John STUDDOCK shall happen to die before he shall accomplish one and twenty years then my Will and meaning is that my Grandchild John OCKLEY shall have this fifty pounds when he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years.

Item I give and bequeath unto Jane CLIFTON the younger twenty four pounds the which is ni my ….. George AMYE the ? to be paid to the said Jane CLIFTON the younger .. after my death .

Item I give .. unto Jane OCKLEY my grandchild the ? ? and the Thurch bid ? with Mill and ?that …the chamber ? the buttery .

Item I give and bequeath unto Mary OCKLEY my daughter my bible my ? and her furniture and all my marriage apparel and one broad boy with all things therein except the ready money. And all the gift of my goods chattels ? ? my debts being paid and my funeral being paid .

I give unto George AMYE my grandchild whom I make my full executor to this my Last Will and Testament. And do appoint my overseers John NEWSON? Clark , Arthur Natto.

Item. I give to of poor of the out parish of Yately twenty shillings to be paid by my executors one month after my death .

I give unto to my ? for things paid twenty shillings a year to be paid them by my executors one month after my decease.

Item my will and meaning is the money mow due to me at ? from ? ? John KNIGHT ? shillings and old Wright eleven? Shillings Watson ? Shillings ? to be paid at my burial.

And brynings George AMYE shall unfit to be my executor to prove this my last Will and Testament then in his place I do declare and appoint my son-in-law George OCKLEY. And to have all the goods bequeathed to him as fully as I have given unto George AMY and upon the same trusts? And conditions paying my debts and funeral palt?
