December 1763 by Edmund Brewer Rector of Puttenham. Sarah "Widow of John
BUDD Gent" was buried at Wanborough 30th June 1777]
In the name of God Amen. I John BUDD of Wanborow in the County of Surrey Yeoman do make my last Will and Testament in manner following.
I give and bequeath to my sons Henry John and Thomas one shilling a
piece and no more. I having advanced and paid for them diverse sums of money but
will that what I have advanced and paid for them shall be retained and kept
without any amount on debt on them by my executor hereafter named further than
so much as my said executor shall be called on to pay and advance more than I
have already paid and in such case what my said executor shall hereafter be
obliged to pay for either of my said sons Henry John and Thomas they
shall be debtors to my said executor.
I? give and devise my copyhold Farms and Land at Monkton Grove held of the Manor of Wanborow to my son William BUDD and his heirs according to the custom of the said Manor the better to enable to pay my debts and legacies which I surrendered to the use of my Will.
I give and devise to my loving Wife Sarah one annuity or yearly sum of twenty pounds a year during her natural life.
I Also I give my daughter Elizabeth BUDD an annuity of fourteen ponds a year till her age of twenty one years.
Also I give my son Robert BUDD an annuity of fourteen pounds a year till his age of twenty one years.
All which annuities I will to be paid quarterly from the day of my death by said executor and at my said daughter Elizabeth's age of twenty one years and son Robert's age of twenty one years. I will my said son William as my executrix shall pay my said daughter and son Robert two hundred pounds a piece of lawful money of Great Britain and in case either of their deaths the legacy of her or him dying to be paid to the survivor.
Lastly all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattels Rights credits, Ready money real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever after payment of debts legacies and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeath to my son William BUDD his heirs executors and administrators whom I nominate constitute and appoint full and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament.
I revoke all former Wills by me made in Testimony whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this 11th of December in the year of our Lord 1763. John BUDD.
Signed sealed published and declared by the said John BUDD the testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who subscribed our names as witnesses thereof in his presence and in the presence of one another after assigns heirs executor and administrators signed above.
